Sustainability is a top priority for the BLEUFEU team! Whether it’s about responsible sourcing, sustainable mobility, social engagement, or equity, diversity, and inclusion, we cover a wide range of initiatives. Our actions are diverse, and we hope they make a meaningful impact. Here are a few examples of our commitments.

Governance

  • Implementation of a Sustainable Development Plan
  • Creation of an interdepartmental Green Committee
  • Promotion of our sustainable development initiatives during the event

Environment

  • Offsetting BLEUFEU employee travel through Gold Standard-certified carbon credits, retired by Planétaire for the benefit of the environment
  • Collaboration with a local external supplier for site maintenance
  • Partnership with Go Zero for the recycling of decorative materials
  • Partnership with Go Consigne for can recycling
  • Installation of numerous waste and recycling bins across the site
  • Reduction in the use of single-use plastics
  • Promotion of sustainable transportation options to reach the event
  • Reusable water bottles permitted on site
  • Reduction of printed materials through the development of digital communication strategies
  • Reuse of construction materials, décor, and signage elements
  • Site restoration after the event (clean-up, waste collection, and daily maintenance)
  • Reduction of energy consumption and increased lifespan of our equipment through the use of LED technology
  • Strong collaboration with local suppliers for the purchase and rental of materials and equipment
  • Integration of Quebec-made products in our food and beverage offerings

Social

  • Implementation of a detailed emergency plan to ensure the safety of festivalgoers and employees
  • Showcasing Quebec, Canadian, and Francophone artists on our stages
  • Free and accessible lineup for everyone
  • Donation of $0.50 per ticket sold (for ticketed programming) to the Effet Rassembleur initiative, which supports local organizations working to break social isolation
  • Donation of all lost and unclaimed items to local organizations in Québec City
  • Ongoing commitment to gender parity within our programming
  • Implementation of a Health and Safety Committee (SST) to identify potential risks for all employees
  • Establishment of La Brigade, in collaboration with CALACS Québec and the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale, to ensure that every festivalgoer can celebrate in a safe and inclusive environment
