What is Toboggan?

Toboggan - New Year’s Eve is a winter music festival in Quebec City, happening December 29-31 to celebrate the New Year.

First launched in 2019, Toboggan returns for its fifth edition from December 29-31, 2024. And the best part? It’s free!

From December 29-31, electro music performances light up Place George-V. For New Year’s Eve on December 31, festivalgoers can choose between two unique experiences: traditional music at Place de l’Assemblée-Nationale or an electro vibe at Place George-V. Toboggan is the New Year’s party in Quebec City!

Where is Toboggan?

Toboggan festival sites are set in the heart of Old Quebec along Grande Allée.

From December 29-31, urban music performances light up Place George-V.

For New Year’s Eve on December 31, festivalgoers can choose between two unique experiences: traditional music at Place de l’Assemblée-Nationale or an electro vibe at Place George-V.

What is the best way to get to Toboggan?

RTC – Public transportation is the easiest and cheapest way to get to the venue on Grande Allée.

Numerous routes, including the Metrobus ones, travel close to the Toboggan sites. Plan your visit!

How to get around at Toboggan?

Tobbogan is an outdoor music festival over 3 nights taking place in Old Quebec!

On December 29, 30, and 31, the shows will be held at the Winter Village on the SiriusXM Cube located at Place George-V on Grande Allée.

Can food and drinks be purchased onsite?

Food

At Place George-V, enjoy popcorn during the family cinema sessions and a tasting of Leclerc’s Celebration cookies.

On Grande Allée, the food trucks Chumrros and Oh Mon Kogo will be present on December 31, offering a unique culinary experience.

For exclusive zones ticket holders: On December 31, Cosmos Catering will offer soup, pogo, coffee, and hot chocolate to keep you warm.

Drinks

Our bars feature beers from Noctem Artisans Brasseurs, ready-to-drink beverages, and non-alcoholic options. The Kepler bars at Place George-V will also serve cocktails from the Distillerie des Appalaches, wines, and hot drinks.

Grande Allée boasts several bars and restaurants for additional options.

What objects are accepted and forbidden on Toboggan sites?

Allowed objects on Toboggan sites

  • Baby bottles or sippy cups for children
  • Guide dogs or assistance dogs (with proof)
  • Light snacks
  • Water containers of less than 500 ml
  • Prescription medication in clearly labeled containers
  • Small backpacks/purses

Forbidden objects on Tobbogan sites

  • Alcohol, legal and illegal drugs
  • Portable chairs
  • Professional audio, video, or photography equipment
  • Fireworks or firecrackers
  • Items that could pose a safety risk to other attendees (bladed weapons, blunt objects, umbrellas, etc.)

*It is forbidden to possess, smoke or vape cannabis on all Toboggan sites.

    Strollers and sleds are not recommended but accepted.
